Easter Blessings

Happy Easter, the Lord has risen indeed! Raindrops changed our landscape, look, and feel of Easter but our annual egg hunt lived on! It was held inside in the preschool area and there were still many smiles, giggles, and excitement on the faces of all the children. It was so exciting to still see them all running in to find their eggs. They voted with their empty eggs to determine contributions to Episcopal Relief and Development, and it appears there may have been a tie between Hurricane Relief and Chickens. It is so wonderful to see the children get involved in how we give back.
Giving back reminds me of what Christ gave to us. As in 2 Timothy 3:15 states, “From infancy, you have known the holy Scriptures which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith, which is in Christ Jesus”. We give and share with others to share his lessons he gave us. He gave the ultimate gift of life for all our sins so we may live, and he rose again to show us his love for us and that heaven awaits us with him. Our faith provides comfort that we know we will be with him in heaven.
A friend shared a story from their Easter service about resurrection. There were two memorial services a couple weeks apart, the first with a family not a member of or attending the church and the mourners grieved and were hurt. The second was a member of the church and full of faith, her family and friends were sad, but also shared stories, laughs, and rejoiced that she was with her Father in heaven. Our holy place awaits us and from his resurrection we are saved. We have only to live a good life, share his word, and await our time in heaven, where not only are we reunited with our Father but also by those who joined him before us.
