Carmen Germino

The Rev. Carmen Germino
Rector
(On sabbatical, returning June 30, 2024)

The Reverend Carmen Germino joined St. Alban’s as Rector in August of 2018. Carmen was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. A graduate of the University of the South in Sewanee, TN, she earned her Master of Divinity Degree from Yale Divinity School in 2007 and her Anglican Studies Certificate from Berkeley Divinity School at Yale in 2011. She previously served as Associate Rector at St. James’s Episcopal Church in Richmond, Virginia. Carmen is married to Matt Presson, an accomplished musician and audio/visual technology consultant. Carmen and Matt are the proud parents of one child, Chris. 

Kevin Lloyd

Associate Rector | Davidson College Episcopal Minister

The Reverend Kevin Lloyd came to Saint Alban’s in August of 2018.  Though not born in North Carolina, he was definitely raised in the “tarheel state”, having arrived here as a three-month-old.  He is a graduate of Wake Forest University and earned his Master in Divinity from Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria.  Prior to coming to Saint Alban’s, Kevin served as Research Assistant to the Archbishop of Canterbury in London, England; Associate Rector at Church of Ascension in Hickory, NC; and, most recently, as Rector of Saint Matthew’s Church in Jamestown, Rhode Island.  Kevin, his wife Julia, and their two children live in Mooresville.

The Reverend Leslie Nuñez Steffensen
Priest Associate

Leslie is a graduate of Virginia Theological Seminary, with a Master’s in Divinity (’12.) She did her undergraduate studies at The Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland, graduating with a bachelor’s in international studies (’88.) After graduating from Officer Candidate School, Newport, RI and completing studies at the Navy and Marine Intelligence Training Center in 1989, she was on active duty for four years as a Naval Aviation Intelligence Officer. After active duty, she raised three children as a Navy spouse. Steffensen later served as a Volunteer for Mission with the Episcopal Church’s program for adult volunteers. She was the academic dean and instructor of theology and biblical studies at Msalato Theological College in Dodoma, Tanzania. She returned to the US and was administrative coordinator for the Center for Anglican Communion Studies at Virginia Theological Seminary. After seminary, she served as assistant to the rector at Grace Episcopal Church in Alexandria, Virginia and was the primary clergy for the Latino congregation, La Gracia. Most recently, she served as canon to the Episcopal Church Bishop Suffragan for the Armed Forces and Federal Ministries, a member of the Presiding Bishop’s staff. When Leslie and her husband Kirk moved to Davidson in 2021, she continued her work remotely for a time. Now she is excited to serve her neighborhood parish and get more involved locally.

Valerie Colbert

Deacon

The Reverend Valerie Davis is Tarheel, born and raised in Durham, North Carolina where she attended St. Titus Episcopal church. She moved to Charlotte, NC in 2005 and relocated to Atlanta in 2012. She returned to the Charlotte Metro area in 2014. She holds a BS degree in Biology and Chemistry from North Carolina Central University, a BA degree in Birth to Kindergarten Education from University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a Human Resources Certification from Duke University. She came to St. Alban’s as a parishioners in May, 2016. Valerie was ordained and appointed to serve at St. Alban’s in May, 2022. She enjoys reading, movie theaters and being outdoors – gardening, water sports, tennis, nature trails and the beach.

John Bailey

John Bailey
Organist & Choirmaster

John began serving as the Organist and Choirmaster at St. Alban's in October 2018. He was born in Michigan, grew up in Florida and has lived in Cornelius since 2007. John has served churches in Florida and North and South Carolina as pianist, music director and organist for over 35 years. His past work has also included being a private piano instructor and professional accompanist for singers and instrumentalists. John studied at the University of Central Florida in Orlando as a piano student of Dr. Gary Wolf and at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida as an organ student of organist/composer Charles Callahan.  

Jessica Ewell

Parish Administrator & Director of Communications

Jessica began her work at the church in 2015 and quickly grew fond of the kind-hearted people of St. Alban's! Originally from Oklahoma, she moved to the Queen City in 1989 where she lived until marrying her high school sweetheart, Brandon, and moving to the Lake Norman area in 2002. The Ewell household has since grown to include a son, Caleb, a daughter, Leah, and furry friends, Smitty and Kitty. Jessica's professional and personal goals collide as she seeks to serve God by serving others in love. During her free time Jessica enjoys spending time with family and friends, walking and roller skating on the greenway, live music, tending her flowers, listening to audiobooks, and cheering on the Carolina Panthers. She loves people, so be sure to stop in the office and say hello some time. 

Courtney Fossett

Courtney Fossett
Director of Children, Youth, & Family Ministry

Courtney and her children, Addie and Cole have been members of St. Alban’s since the family moved here almost thirteen years ago. They both attended St. Alban’s Weekday Preschool, which led Courtney to serve on the preschool board and the vestry. She has also served as the PTA President for Huntersville Elementary for two years. Courtney grew up Episcopalian in New Bern, NC at Christ Episcopal Church where she was an active member of EYC. She was also very involved in the Diocese of East Carolina, participating in and planning many youth retreats and serving on a youth commission. 

Erin Garrett

Finance Director

Erin and her husband, Brad, have been in North Carolina since 1998 and live in Huntersville with their three children.  Erin has her B.S. in Commerce with a Concentration in Accounting from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia and a NC CPA license.  Prior to coming to St Alban's, Erin was an Audit Manager at Arthur Andersen, a VP-Finance at Bank of America and a stay-at-home mom for 10 years.  In her spare time, Erin enjoys walking, watching her children's sporting events and reading.

Patti Rossini

Patti Rossini
St. Alban's Weekday Preschool Director

Patti has been working with young children and their families for over 25 years.  She has a B.S. in Speech Pathology and Psychology and a M.S. in Early Childhood/ Special Education. Her experience includes work in private as well as public schools. She has experience as a classroom teacher, administrator, and consultant. Patti has been married for 23 years and has two boys. She loves the beach, gardening, reading, shopping, fishing, and spending time with her family. Patti loves getting to know the families that she works with and partnering with them to provide the best, loving, Christian preschool program for each individual child.
