New Beginnings or Moving Forward?

This morning we spent some time as a staff moving some things around in the office. We were cleaning out, organizing, and making room for new beginnings. All hands were on deck including the Sr. and Jr. Wardens. It was an undertaking and together we accomplished our task. Although hard work, there was such a sense of accomplishment upon completion, and I am so grateful for the amazing staff that I work with to make things happen.

My thoughts were taken to all the graduates we will honor on May 17th. They will also be doing a lot of the same things we were doing this morning when they take their first steps into new futures and paths in the Fall. I am reminded of the passage Joshua 1:9 that states, "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." No matter what path these accomplished young people will take, it will be a new beginning and will include cleaning out, organizing, and making room physically, mentally, and spiritually for the bright futures that lay ahead for each of them.

The St. Alban’s community of parishioners and staff have had the distinct honor of being a part of each of their journeys. What an impact that can make as they traverse new communities and surroundings. As in Jeremiah 29:11: "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future." God is with them and will lead them to the future that is meant for them. The groundwork has been laid by parents, family, school, church, and community. They will take that with them wherever they go to accomplish great things. Psalm 23: 5, “My cup runneth over” with pride and admiration for all they have accomplished and will achieve in their bright futures. Please join us on May 17th to honor, congratulate, wish them all the best, and take an opportunity to be a Prayer Warrior for each of them. Prayer Warrior cards will be available on a table in the narthex that morning.
