What an exciting Sunday it was last Sunday! It was so wonderful to have Bishop Sam with us and to see all the confirmands in their Sunday best. Kevin and I spent six sessions with all the youth that were confirmed. We enjoyed dinner, conversation, and laughs with them and after we had inspirational and informative sessions with Kevin. I am so unbelievably proud of them all! It was a pleasure to spend time together and to get to know each of them. Many I have known since they were little and have seen them grow up in the church and others, I had the pleasure of meeting for the first time. Each of them had wonderful reflections on all the information that was shared, and we had some great conversations. This rite of passage is a milestone in their lives, and it is my great hope that they will reflect on it as fondly as I have mine over the years. Congratulations to them all and to the adult confirmands as well!
Our youth have been busy lately helping to pass out greenery flyers in the surrounding neighborhood and just last weekend enjoying some fun and fellowship with pumpkin carving and hot dogs and s’mores around the firepit. There are many exciting opportunities for them coming up including Scarowinds this Friday, Davidson Football game on Nov. 5th, packing Turkey boxes on Nov. 13th, and hosting a Panthers Tailgate and Watch Party for the parish on Nov. 20th. My heart is so full with the honor of knowing and working with such amazing youth and their families. I know God has great things in store for them all!
