Adult Formation Opportunities

We see all of our adult ministries as opportunities for growth and learning what it is to be a Christian man or woman. Sometimes we learn by mopping a floor or setting up tables for a Fall Festival.   We learn through worship as we sing, pray and serve the church in the Altar guild, or as an usher, acolyte or lay reader.  We learn as we pray the daily office, on Sunday mornings and as we pray our way through the church year.  We also provide regular opportunities for learning through study, including:

Adult Forum

Book Studies

A lay led discussion group, in an open form, using poetry, secular writings and literary forms from all religious traditions that examine the shared insights of our individual spiritual awareness and growth in our life journeys.  The group meets from 9:10 -10:10 each Sunday, year-round. Currently this group meets in the yellow room downstairs, next to the choir room.

Book Club Group
Our lay-led book group selects a book about every four to six weeks, and discusses it informally (and spiritedly!) at a potluck brunch in the church after the 10:30 AM service on a selected Sunday.  Notices are found in the weekly bulletin and frequently in the weekly E-mail.  Selections have ranged from spiritual memoirs to best-sellers, C.S. Lewis to Ta-Nahesi Coates to Parker Palmer.  Come join us for fun, food and great conversation!  Additional book studies are offered from time to time by clergy or others, and are announced in the bulletin and Weekly E-mail.
